JOB DUTIES:

Play a key role in managing and overseeing the operations for a cloud-based data platform and its pipeline deliverables using Microsoft Azure cloud services, machine learning and big data technologies. Manage the day-to-day activities of the data engineering delivery and BI team. Develop and implement data engineering and business intelligence (BI) strategies to support organizational initiatives. Work with key stakeholders to define and improve standardized and ad-hoc ETL, analytics and reporting capabilities for our data warehouse. Work with power-users of the analytics and reporting tools to advice on best practices for BI reporting. Provide leadership to the Data Engineering & BI team to ensure that team meets and exceeds expectations. Track and report team success metrics for projects. Coordinate with business units to understand reporting/analytics needs, translate into technical requirements, refine requirements processes, and improve the intake, development & delivery of Data Warehousing & BI services. Lead meetings with key stakeholders to gather business requirements, provide input to project plans, obtain status updates, and define future state architecture for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Work closely with the data services leadership to set goals and objectives for delivery of data engineering services. Manage and oversee the operations of the reporting and analytics platform(s) and associated software to ensure that analytics data aligns with technical requirements. Coordinate with data engineers & BI engineers to ensure that data sets feeding the analytics platforms are tuned for optimal performance. Communicate with business partners, software vendors, and internal departments. Define and oversee sprint milestones and product releases in alignment with company’s global vision. Lead crossfunctional projects and long-term BI development initiatives, managing multiple projects with organizational priorities simultaneously. Responsible for managing and tracking Data/BI and reporting activities to ensure that the operating costs are achieved within budget. Provide training/demo to all business users to accomplish the goal of making self-service BI tools as organizational growth strategy for BI and Analytics space. Responsible for the global standardization of Data Engineering & BI processes, process improvement and efficiency. Mentor and guide team in BI best practices. Participate in the interview and hiring process, as necessary, to accomplish overall project delivery goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field, plus six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate business intelligence/analytics, data engineering/warehousing, software engineering, or related experience. This position also requires education or experience in: (a) Business intelligence (BI) data/architecture development for the healthcare industry; (b) Utilizing business intelligence (BI) analytics/reporting tools, such as Microsoft Power BI, Excel Power Pivot, Power View, Tableau, or similar; (c) SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS; (d) Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) and other Microsoft Azure cloud-based solutions (Azure Cognitive Services, Azure ML Studio, Azure Data Services, or similar); (e) GIT and GIT Hub; (f) Enterprise data warehouse (EDW) &/or database design; (g) Data modeling and data model design; (h) Designing analytical platforms using predictive data model; (i) Designing and developing ETL programs/solutions; (j) Leading long-term BI and Analytic development initiatives; and (k) Agile development lifecycle.
