Position Title: Sr. Director, Total Rewards

External Description:

The Sr. Director, Total Rewards will be responsible for the continued strategic planning, design, and implementation of a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy and programs companywide.  This role will manage various compensation programs and activities including base pay, incentive pay, options grants, surveys, and compensation analytics.  Additional responsibilities include job revisions, market pricing, and maintaining salary structures. The Sr. Director, Total Rewards will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures to ensure they are current, competitive, and in compliance with legal requirements.

 

General Duties/Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to): 

ANALYSIS DUTIES

·       Evaluates internal and external salary statistics to provide recommendations and strategies for changes to salary grades and for classification of new jobs

·       Examines and presents to functional leaders’ compensation themes and pay gaps for their respective teams

Analyzes and delivers reporting and cost projections to support the recommendation of benefit plan changes, adding new benefits and ensuring program governance
·       Maintains expertise and continual assessment and research of market trends and recommends considerations for change to current programs by building business cases and calculating the impact on budgets

COMPENSATION DUTIES

·       Works collaboratively with administrative functions to build support of compensation processes within the framework available

·       Serves as a partner with hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition team to determine appropriate base and incentive pay for new hire offers; determines appropriate response to requests for retention and signing bonuses, along with recommendations for new positions and promotions supported by internal equity, pay guidelines, and external competitive benchmarks

·       Examines and presents to functional leaders’ compensation themes and pay gaps for their respective teams

·       Manages the building, ongoing evaluation, and administration assessments related to stock equity plans

·       Responsible for presenting updates and important information to the board that impacts the organization as related to any recommended changes or regulatory requirement updates

·       Manages overall annual compensation review planning process to include merit, bonus, and equity programs

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·       Oversees assigned staff. Responsibilities include: recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; assigning workload; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Experience: 

·       Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience

·       Minimum 5+ years leadership experience

·       Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively across all areas of the business

·       Problem solver mindset with the ability to multi-task and meet constantly changing deadlines

·       Advanced computer skills, including mastery of Excel and PowerPoint

 

Education/Licensure:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

 

Additional Experience Preferred: 

·       Experience with pre-IPO equity, mergers, and acquisitions (M & A), sales rewarding, and/or executive compensation a plus

·       Demonstrated knowledge in planning, developing, and maintaining salary ranges, incentive plans (both short & long-term including equity programs) and performance management trends

·       Very high level of attention to detail, extremely organized, and work well in a fast-paced environment

·       Analytical mindset with focus on metrics, statistical analysis, and modeling along with experience evaluating and managing online salary management tools

·       Ability to work collaboratively and to influence and develop strong cross-functional working relationships with groups such as Human Capital Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Finance

·       Clear communication skills, including an ability for breaking down complex technical concepts and knowledge sharing

·       Benefits experience to include LOA administration, workers compensation, compliance reporting and filing requirements

·       HRIS and Benefits experience preferred
