Position Summary:

The Manager Financial Planning & Analysis will assist the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in all areas of SG&A including development and implementation of annual financial plan (budget), quarterly forecast, annual BID data submission, reporting as well as monthly performance against budget.  The Manager Financial Planning & Analysis possess strong analytical skills and applies critical thinking to identify and solve problems.  The right candidate for this role is highly motivated, detailed-oriented, well-organized, embraces change, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. 

 

General Duties/Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):

·       Prepare tentative, interim, and final budget submissions within established guidelines; review expenditures to ensure proper budget compliance.

·       Develop and manage financial budgets and forecast for all SG&A and clinical departments using trend reports, estimates, and recommendation from business owners.

·       Work with business owners to determine business needs and assist in financial modeling or reporting and explain the budget process as needed.

·       Develop and maintain monthly financial reports to clearly communicate actual results and variances to budget and forecast to department and business owners.

·       Produce clear and well-formatted analysis and the ability to present results to senior management.

·       With Finance leadership, consolidate and report departmental budget data. 

·       Support monthly close process which includes review monthly expenditures to ensure proper GL coding.

·       Work with Accounting team and business owners when coding reclass is necessary.

·       Approve requisitions and offer letters for new hires and replacement hires.

·       Provide end-user budget tool training and address queries.

 

·       Assist in the annual SG&A BID submission

·       Partner with end-users; work on the annual plan and forecast scenarios to ensure data quality upload

·       Handle ad hoc reporting requests.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees assigned staff. Responsibilities include: recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; assigning workload; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

 

Minimum Requirements:

·       Minimum Experience:

o   5 -8 years of finance, budget, and accounting experience.

o   3-5 years of budget performance management software experience preferably in Prophix

o   Healthplan experience preferred.

o   Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with MS Excel.

 

·       Education/Licensure:

o   Bachelor of Science in Finance, Business or Accounting required.

 

·       Other:

    • Knowledge of principles and practices of finance administration in accounting, budgeting, and auditing.
    • Knowledge of healthcare operations and services
    • Demonstrated ability to work towards goals with minimal supervision.

o   Prepare clear and concise reports.

o   Ability to work in high-pressure situations, meet deadlines, multi-task, adapt procedures and systems to meet changing needs in a fast-paced environment.

o   Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with all levels of employees up to Executive Level.

    • Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

o   Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

o   Must demonstrate sufficient attendance to complete the duties and deadlines of the position as required
