Position Summary:
This Associate Vice President (AVP) of Sales role is responsible for the sales results at Alignment for these following areas: Orange County, California and the State of Arizona. Sales results include not only enrollments and the ensuing retention, but, also trainings, compliance, and day-to-day operations within the sales structure.

General Duties/Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):

  • Develops and implements sales and retention tactics for Alignment’s Orange County geography
  • Develops and implements sales and retention tactics for Alignment’s Arizona geography
  • Oversees the broker channel relationships and processes for the aforementioned geographies.
  • Manages and directs the pertinent sales staff attached to the aforementioned geographies, including certain broker managers, certain community marketing outreach representatives, and certain sales coordinator(s), and certain captive agent(s).
  • Ensures internal colleagues and broker partners remain compliant of CMS and Alignment rules.
  • Works collaboratively with home office and field marketing colleagues to support sales efforts and results.
  • Works collaboratively with provider engagement and network management colleagues to ensure a provider-focused sales strategy is in place.

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Sales will supervise the following colleagues: (1) Broker Manager – Orange County, (2) Community Marketing Outreach Representative – LA/OC, (3) Broker Manager for Pima County, Az, (4) Broker Manager for Maricopa County, Arizona, (5) Captive Sales Agent, Arizona, and (6) Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Arizona.

Managerial duties include, but, are not limited to: direct supervision and guidance for the above-mentioned roles, ensuring goals are conveyed and measured, ensure standard management processes are followed (e.g. performance reviews, time off approvals, expense approvals, and more).

  2. Minimum of 10 years of Medicare Advantage sales leadership experience is required.
  3. Education/Licensure:
  4. Bachelor degree in related field required; master’s degree preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:

  1. Passionate about sales, outreach, retention, and marketing and able to instill passion and drive in her/his team
  2. Knowledge of customer relationship management tools like SalesForce
  3. Understanding of the different channels of sales: broker, captive, telesales, etc.
  4. Understanding of lead generation strategies related to community outreach
  5. Experience and understanding of provider partnership strategies that lead to sales
  6. Ability to travel to different geographies; up to 50% travel may be required
  7. Understanding and knowledge of different MA products and benefit designs
  8. Experience and history related to different marketing and advertising approaches that lead to Medicare Advantage lead generation and sales
