Position Summary:

Reporting to the Associate VP, Human Capital Business Partners, System and Operations is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The Associate VP consults with business leaders on Human Capital-related initiatives and issues. The successful Associate VP will act as an employee champion and change agent while considering the unique needs of the business unit and overall business. They will manage the design, development and modification of HRIS and other HR computer solutions (including, but not limited to HRIS databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Compensation, Affirmative Action Plans (AAP), and Learning & Development) to suit organizational needs.  

General Duties/Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the Human Capital Business Partner function and overseeing HRIS Systems and Operations.
  • Directs and reviews the planning, strategic goals, and objectives of the Human Capital department.
  • Responsible for developing goals/objectives, policies/procedures, and standards company-wide
  • Strategically plan and administrator HR system(s) to enforce the security access to data.
  • Lead projects which impact data maintenance on the HRIS, including mass updates.
  • Plan and develop analyses, reports, and presentations.
  • Apply statistical knowledge and data modeling to provide current and high-quality information and develop analytical approaches to answer business questions.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HC group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Conducts and/or oversees new employee orientation program and/or other training programs.
  • Supports the implementation of on-going recruiting, training, and incentive-based programs designed for employee retention and promoting growth of employees as well as the company.
  • Maintains employee records, and reviews actions including annual and merit increases, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conducts on-site assessment of current jobs to identify areas needing change and/or training.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues in partnership with our PEO. Assists in conducting formal employee grievances and claims. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Includes engagement of outside temporary recruitment agencies as well as direct candidate sourcing.
  • Conducts initial entry interviews for qualified candidates as well as all exit interview with terminating employees.
  • Reviews, and makes recommendations for Handbook updates on an annual basis to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, laws, and programs.
  • May participate in other projects such as: benefit program review, design; Employee Newsletter; compensation structure development; improvement of new employee orientation, etc.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees any assigned staff. Responsibilities include: recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees; assigning workload; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

Minimum Requirements:

 

1.       Minimum Experience:

    1. 10+ years Human Resource experience.
    2. 5+ years management experience
    3. HRIS and HR operations experience highly preferred

 

2.       Education/Licensure:

    1. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills and Abilities:

1.       Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

2.       Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

3.       Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

4.       Computer Skills: Knowledge of computer programs and applications required.
