 The Director, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for setting the strategic direction of Alignment’s ERM program. At the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and the ERM Steering Committee, this individual establishes the ERM architecture for the company, as well as management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the company's regulatory, operational and strategic risk.

This individual will develop ERM tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to the Organization’s enterprise risk management framework.

Reports Directly to the ERM Steering Committee Chair/CCO

Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with risk owners to identify emerging risks and documents controls, policies and risk mitigation plans.
  • Supports the oversight and direction of all risks across the enterprise.
  • Ensures the organization's risk assessment/management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the Organization.
  • Monitors and analyzes all risk management activities within the company's business units and provides reports on these risks to the CCO.
  • Provides key inputs into the company's ERM Steering Committee that oversees the enterprise risk management process and ensures alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Supports the enhancement and implementation of the risk vision and approach.
  • Ensures all risks are managed and reported appropriately.
  • Produces reports for ERM Chair/CCO to communicate emerging risk information to and from the Board of Directors, Senior Leadership Team, Risk/Compliance/Governance/Audit teams and business units.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees assigned staff. Responsibilities include recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; assigning workload; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years experience in audit, compliance, risk management, or related functions; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences

  • Enterprise Risk Management leadership experience preferred
  • ERM experience in a Managed Care Organization preferred
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, RIMS, CRMP, or other risk management certifications preferred
